Why new build backyards are different

Sparks carries a large share of the region’s new housing, and most new construction arrives with a finished front yard and a bare dirt backyard. The fill is compacted, the grade is builder grade, and nothing has been planned for how you will live there.

Do it in one pass

Grading, drainage, pavers, retaining walls, rock and irrigation all at once is usually the most efficient route. Equipment comes in once, sleeves go under the patio before it is laid, and the irrigation is zoned for the planting that is actually going in.

Check the HOA first

Many Sparks communities have landscape guidelines and require approval. Review them before design so the plan you submit is one that gets approved the first time.
